It’s that time of the year again. Now before we get caught up in all the partying, celebrations and gift exchanges, we need to remember that this Christmas celebration commences with the birth of Christ. But even before the birth, the story goes way back to the One and only God, the Father, the Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, creator of all things visible and invisible. See God made man, yet man disobeyed and sinned against God by doing what he was commanded not to.
As a result, sin entered into the world and broke the perfect relationship that man had with God when man was created. But then God made a provision for that relationship to be restored. He promised to send a redeemer, a saviour, one who would save His people from their sins and restore the broken relationship with God the Father. He promised all this through the Old Testament Prophets such as Isaiah, Jeremiah and Micah.
And we get to see this being fulfilled in the New Testament, the Saviour will come from the seed of David, the seed of Abraham. As prophesied, He was born of the Virgin Mary, instructed by the Angel, Mary and Joseph named Him Jesus. When He grew up He taught the way to God the Father. Remember restoring the relationship? Well.. Since man sinned against God therefore, man had to pay for that committed sin. And the only way it had to be paid was by the death of a very righteous person because God is all-righteous that is why God sent His only begotten Son – Jesus Christ who is all-righteous and yet man, to pay for our sins.
He was born, lived a perfect life that we can never live, He suffered, gave His life when He got crucified on the cross and died. But He rose on the third day defeating Sin, Death and Satan and because of that we now have the Hope of Eternal Life after this earthly life knowing that our sins were paid for and that when I go to God the Father, genuinely asking for forgiveness of my sins and to change my ways so that I can live for Him, I know He’s faithful and just to forgive me.
So don’t be that person who missed Christmas, like those we read in the Gospels of the New Testament, like the Inn Keeper, too busy, pretty much occupied with your own stuff. Like Herod, too jealous, too afraid, too envious, too consumed in your power. Like the Chief Priests, too indifferent and too proud to admit that you are a sinner. Like Jerusalem, too religious thinking you’re spiritual, forgetting the center of our spirituality. Like the Romans, worshiping idols, idols such as money, sex, cars, materialism, power, fame, houses, prestige. Like Nazareth, too familiar with the Word of God, with who Jesus is. Remember this Christmas Story can only become a reality to you once you receive and accept it by repenting of your sins and believing in the Lord Jesus Christ for a changed heart.
So as you go about today please ponder upon these facts;
And answer these questions;
Have you asked for forgiveness from Him?
How will you respond to what has been shared to you?

Serene Truth Resource is a resource centre created under Forthwith Records with the aim to equip men and women with the truth of God, which is the pillar and ground the church of the living God is built upon.
We standing and holdfast to the 2 Timothy 3:16-17 which states “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work,” we want to be intentional about impacting our culture and generations now and after us with the message of the Gospel as the pillar and structure of our conversation calling men to repent and believe in the Son of God. The resources created are tailor-made for the equipping of believers and grounding them to abiding in God through the power of the Holy Spirit, producing the fruit of service and devotion in their day-to-day lives.
