Matthew 28:5-6.
But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.
Where is that Man, the Nazarene, with wounded hands and feet? He is risen!
The place where He lay is empty...The grave is empty.
The Finality of Death?
When a person dies all body functions cease. Their heart stops beating, blood stops flowing and soon after the final breath the body starts to decompose. We bring into question the finality of death. Is this the end? Do we cease to exist the moment of our final breath? Or do we drift off into apparent nothingness for all eternity? In this life death is the end. But then again it is not. It marks a transit either into Glory, the wonderful presence of our God or into a place of torment eternally separate From God. Picturing the scene at the tomb. The guards stay alert at the entrance guarding the tomb, the disciples with heavy hearts; The Messiah is dead. The Saviour is dead.
The Defeat of Death
Picture the two women making their way to the tomb oblivious to the events that were about to occur. The guards at the entrance unaware of what was to come.....The silence in the tomb where the Saviour lay. The ground as it begins to shake. The bewilderment of the guards. The expressions on the faces of the women as the angel uttered these words of hope, "He is not here, for he has risen"
The Saviour has risen. He is alive. He is no longer dead. Death has been defeated. The Grave has been conquered.
The Significance of Jesus' Resurrection
In whom would we have placed our hope if Christ had not risen? By Jesus Christ's death and resurrection we have life and that life is eternal. He is the ultimate atonement for our sin. And by His resurrection he reveals to us that our faith is not in vain.
And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. - 1 Corinthians 15:17
The apostle Paul writes to the church in Corinth this truth: "..in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed." - 1 Corinthians 15:52
Because of the Resurrection we have hope that those who die having believed in the LORD for their salvation, will be resurrected to meet their Saviour and they shall be changed, given glorious bodies, fit for eternity.
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” - 1 Corinthians 15:55

Serene Truth Resource was established under Forthwith Records with the goal of equipping men and women with God's Truth, which is the foundation and pillar upon which the church of the living God is built upon.
We want to be intentional about impacting our culture and generations now and after us with the message of the Gospel as the pillar and structure of our conversation calling men and women to repent and believe in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Being intentional about this message and holdfast to the 2 Timothy 3:16-17 which states “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work,” we desire to be a tool specifically designed to equip believers and ground them in God’s Word through the empowering of the Holy Spirit, resulting in the fruit of service and devotion in our daily lives.
