It was dark and cold, with no room to spare when Jesus Christ was born. He lay in hay, the stable way, once upon a Christmas.
This story begins months before that fateful day- 9 to be exact, when a woman named Mary was visited by an angel. Imagine that! Mary could never have known the measure to which she had been favored, when the angel of the Lord told her that she would conceive and have a child. He also instructed her that she was to name him Jesus, for he would reign over the descendants of Jacob, and his Kingdom would have no end.
Oh but, how could this be? for she was a virgin. The angel said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God". Mary received these words, but there was just one problem- she was pledged to be married.
Now their engagement was at risk of being discharged. For who would believe that Mary was found to be with child, through the Holy Spirit? Joseph being as kind as he was honorable, sought to divorce his wife-to-be, quietly. But before he could, he was visited by an angel in a dream, saying, "do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit".
So Joseph stayed with Mary. And so in a small city, in the Judaean Hills, Jesus was born . Immanuel had come, yes, God became man. Like the star that out-shined the galaxy that night, and shone more brilliantly than any star ever would, our Savior was born! Many were born that day, but only one was welcomed with such a glorious jubilant celebration.
You remember, don't you? There was a company of heavenly hosts, choirs of angels, ascending and descending, singing songs of joy to the shepherds who were watching their flocks. Oh, Joy to the world. They sang:
“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
Glory to God!
Far and wide across the earth, the message that was foretold, was that the Lord Jesus Christ was born, once upon a Christmas. Ask the Magi who came from the east, they saw his star when it rose and followed it until it stopped over the place where Jesus was. And imagine that great and wonderful encounter, that as soon as they laid eyes on the child, they bowed down and worshiped Him. He is so worthy! Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Jesus is King, Jesus is Lord. He is worthy of every praise.
We may have heard many things about Jesus; where He lived or what He did. But the question is, do we know Him personally? Have you had an encounter with the King of Kings? If you cannot recall a single moment when you surrendered your life to Jesus, I encourage you to open your heart and receive Him today. You will never be the same.

We standing and holdfast to the 2 Timothy 3:16-17 which states “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work,” we want to be intentional about impacting our culture and generations now and after us with the message of the Gospel as the pillar and structure of our conversation calling men to repent and believe in the Son of God. The resources created are tailor-made for the equipping of believers and grounding them to abiding in God through the power of the Holy Spirit, producing the fruit of service and devotion in their day-to-day lives.
