Heaven, you seem so close yet so far away. I’ve heard many wonderful things about you. I’ve heard that there’s no sun there, no moon, yet the light is so bright because God’s presence illuminates it, in Him there is no darkness. I’ve heard about the joy unending and the worship everlasting. I’ve heard there’s no sickness and no sadness. How I long to be there, this place no longer feels like home.
Oh Heaven, I’ve heard about the river called the Water of Life that proceeds from the Throne of God and flows in the middle of the street. I’ve heard it’s clear as glass, like a sea of crystals. Breathtaking! I’ve heard that there is no death there, even the trees appear to be alive. The flowers, the grass, I heard they give glory to God. I long to be there, I’ve gotta see this for myself.
Oh and I’ve heard about the music in Heaven, that the angels sing beautifully, and even the swoosh of their wings gives out melodies. I’ve heard you can see the Throne of God no matter where you stand, it’s like the center piece of Heaven. And the One who sits on it has the appearance of jasper and carnelian.
Oh Heaven, I’ve heard that your streets are made of gold and there, nobody is old. Oh and the people are lovely, it’s like a big family reunion. I’ve heard that there are mansions there, and there’s one being prepared for me.
Oh Heaven, there’s so much I look forward to, but what I want more than anything is to behold the face of my Jesus. I’ve heard He has brown hair and some say He has olive-brown eyes. Whatever the case, He is the very definition of Love and when I look into His eyes, I’ll know I’m finally Home.
I told the Lord I was ready to come Home, that I couldn’t understand my purpose and I would much rather be with Him. He responded, “It’s not about you.”… I’m not sad, I understand. For I know where I’m going when I leave this earth, but not everyone does.
So I will dedicate my life to telling people about Jesus, so that they too will have a place in Heaven, and so that when I get Home some day, I will not be empty handed.
Oh Heaven, beautiful Heaven, keep cheering me on when my journey feels long. I’ll be steadfast and hopeful, because I know I’m on my way Home.
Thanks for reading, God bless you.

Serene Truth Resource is a resource centre created under Forthwith Records with the aim to equip men and women with the truth of God, which is the pillar and ground the church of the living God is built upon.
We standing and holdfast to the 2 Timothy 3:16-17 which states “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work,” we want to be intentional about impacting our culture and generations now and after us with the message of the Gospel as the pillar and structure of our conversation calling men to repent and believe in the Son of God. The resources created are tailor-made for the equipping of believers and grounding them to abiding in God through the power of the Holy Spirit, producing the fruit of service and devotion in their day-to-day lives.
